Part 1: Joel, Thacia, and Daniel discuss the meaning of Psalm 18:34. Thacia says, "I think David meant a bow that a man couldn't bend--that when God strengthens us we can do something that seems impossible." What "impossible" thing are Joel, Daniel, and Thacia hoping to do?
Part 2: Read Philippians 4:12-13. What characters from the Bible are clear examples of this? Is there something that you have done that you feel you were only able to do with God's help? Or, is there something that you hope to do that you feel you will only be able to do with God's help?
Part 3: Reply to a classmate's post encouraging them and/or adding insight to the example from the Bible.
They are trying to get rid of the burden the Jews/Israelites are carrying (the Romans). They want to be free to rule themselves again.
ReplyDeleteMoses, Paul, John the Baptist, The Disciples, David, Daniel, Elijah, Noah, Esther, and are all great examples of Philippians 4:12-13, especially verse 13, “I can do all this through him who gives me strength.”
I hope to succeed in life; I want to go to college, get a job, own a house, own a car, have a family, etc. I know that I can’t accomplish any of this without God’s help.
I think you will go very far in life, and I know God will help you all the way. Always remember God is with you in times of greatness and troubles, and He is on your side all the time. He will help you get to where you want to be.
DeleteYou will do great in life just keep your head up!
DeleteThey are trying to get rid of the Romans and end the suffering and crucifixions. Daniel has felt what it is like to be hungry and to be fed. I hope to live my life the way I was intended to live it, through God.
ReplyDeleteI know you can live your life the way it was intended, you are stronger than you think especially when you have God with you to show you the way. Your already an amazing person don't let anyone tell you different.
DeleteThey are trying to make the country free again. They made an oath saying they would fight against the Romans as long as they live. They want to avenge Daniel’s father because what the Romans did to him and his family was not right. David and Goliath is an example. David was just a shepherd boy. He didn't have much, but he trusted God that he would defeat Goliath. Without the help of God, David wouldn’t have been able to defeat Goliath. God strengthened him. Something in the future that I won’t be able to do without God’s help is standing up for Him. I don’t want to deny him. In this day and age, everybody thinks it is okay to do these sinful things. They tell you that you are being mean to them by telling them that they are wrong. They shun you. God is obviously the most important in my life. I definitely need his help through these tough times.
ReplyDeleteGod will help you through these tough times no matter what, he will always be there.
DeleteThey are hoping to overcome and destroy the Romans. They want to avenge Daniel’s parents and give justice to the people. Some people from the Bible that are good examples of these verses are the following: Hannah, Esther, Noah, Job, Ruth, Daniel, and Paul. When my grandma died, my family and I were going through a hard time. There were times when I felt God wasn't there. But with the help of God working through family members, my family members helped me realize that this was done because of God's will. God strengthened me and helped me get through his time of pain. Even though I sometimes cry thinking about her, I can remember to smile because she is in heaven. God gives me that strength to know for sure she is in heaven.
ReplyDeleteHaving a person close to you pass away is always a difficult time to get through. Like you said, you felt like God wasn't there. God is always there in all circumstances. He loves you so much and has a great future for you if you let him lead you life's mazes of complications.
DeleteI know having someone pass away is hard I've had family members pass away and it isn't the best of times but God helps you get over it and it always helps to think that they're having the best time ever in heaven with God and that he's always there for you.
DeleteThey are trying to defeat the Romans. Good examples of people are Ruth, Esther, Daniel, and David. I hope I can be successful in life, but not everyone succeeds in life.
ReplyDeleteThe main thing about life is sucking things up. Sometimes you have to put on a mask. Other time you try not to petty yourself. Sometimes it's good to cry. Life is tough. As long as you trust in God, you'll have something to be happy about.
DeleteThe impossible thing they are trying to do is defeat the Romans. Like David and Golieth God strengthened David to defeat Golieth, And Esher God strengthened her to stand up and state that her people were being killed by the king knowing that she could have died. I hope to live the life God has planned and not to loose sight of the path.
ReplyDeleteThe Impossible thing that Joel and Daniel are supposed to set Israel free from the Romans. Paul, John, Noah, Daniel and David. One thing I hope for is for me to live my life the way God intended me to live and do the things that god wants not what I want.
ReplyDeleteWell, if you keep on having faith and believing in Him, He will surely help you out for the rest of your life!
DeleteI know that as long as you listen to your conscience (The Holy Spirit) you will do exactly what God wants and what you need to do to succeed in life. Listen to the voice inside of you. It is God and he knows what's right.
DeleteThe “Impossible” Thing they are trying to do is stop the Romans, they want One of the characters I know is Moses, he brought the people to the Promised Land while facing hunger and need, also he did a lot of things with God’s strength. Sometimes when we run the mile, I feel like God is helping me to keep on going!
ReplyDeleteThe impossible thing that they are trying to do is recruiting people to try to defeat the Romans.
ReplyDeleteQueen Esther had to go against the King and risk her life when she was all alone at the castle except for her old protector and father figure to her, Mordecai. Every year when we have to run the mile I think, “O Lord please help me get through this mile.” I definitely need God to strengthen me for the mile.
