Ch. 10-15 Vocabulary

Choose 3 of the following vocabulary words and write a brief description of a character, place, or event in this section of the novel: fetid, unfathomable, warily, surly, compulsion, piqued, recompense, fragile, comrades, trodden, burdensome, unkempt, eluded, venture. intricacy.

  1. LEAH: Leah is very wary of going outside of the house that she has been living in for years because she doesn't want other people to look at her. When someone does look at her on accident, she is like a fragile porcelain doll and is broken. It is burdensome for her, then, to do any tasks after someone has looked at her, even for a fraction of a second.

  2. Nathan and Kemuel: They are now considered comrades to Daniel, Joel and Thacia. They have the same goal: To take down the Romans. Also, since they are now considered friends, they are now comrades!

  3. Leah has fragile trust. It takes a lot for her to gain trust for people but once something betrays her trust she goes in a corner and hides herself from everybody. She can be a huge burdensome on Daniels life. Leah needs to be looked after constantly other wise she won't take care of herself. Leah is unfathomable she is difficult to get her personality and she can be complicated.

    Daniel took a Venture when he went to Capurnum to see Joel.

  5. Samson watches WARILY, or stands guard in cases of danger, over Daniel to keep him safe, for wile Rosh is SURLY jealous for Daniel because he has Samson at his command. That jealousy PIQUED, or a dread in Rosh.

  6. Leah is unkempt when it comes to being alone with out Daniel.

    Daniel is fragile when it comes to his family.

    Rosh likes to venture with his group on the mountain.
